next scene

On Friday, me Rhyce and Lucy all want out to record. We went a few roads away from school as one of our scenes were on the street where Lucy and Rhyce bump into eachother. Rhyce recognises her from the train station scene but Lucy just looks back and does not really acknowledge him. My main role within the group is to bring props so for this scene, I lent Rhyce my phone to use. He used this in order to make the scene more realistic. It was also a bright sunny day so meant we could record in many different weather conditions for our music video as we don't want the same weather or location the whole way through.

I am back up when it comes to recording but as our original recorder was not in, i stepped in. We spent a lesson just recording many clips so we had alot to use and fit into the rest of our video. We still must attend two more locations to finish off our video. These are the park scene were is going to look into the lake and see Lucys reflection ba Rhyce ck and then the very last scene will be at the train station again. This is where we started our music video and this is where we will end it.

next filming session

We aim to next do a filming session in Birkenhead Park second lesson tomorrow. Me or Kayleigh will be the recorder depending on which one of us is in. If she is in then I will be arranging props to make sure we are fully prepared. Mr lidell will be driving us here to save us time. We will be recording many shots from closeups to far away. We plan to aim the camera at the lake. Rhyce will see Lucys face in the pond and then it will disappear.

Here is our beginning to our music Video. Kayleigh has been working  at editing the film together and adding sound ect. We still need another minute or two but will be recording more next week to add in to our video. 

Editing

Today, we have started editing part of our video together. We have been learnin how to use new affects such as fade ins and fade outs. So far we have use 2 different programmes to edit, the first being imusic and the second being garage band. Both are very helpful and simple to use when it comes to putting our video together. We still have a long way to to but we are into the full swing of things now.

Video Narrative

Our music video tells a story, pretty similar to the actual version of Sam Smiths 'Latch'. The story is just based on love and two people acting out an every day life scene. The beginning of the video is going to be shot in a train station as this is an everyday life location. Rhyce whose our male actor will enter the train station with no music playing and take a seat on the bench. A few seconds after, we will hear the beginning of the song through a pair of headphones. Once the singing starts in the song, Rhyce will then put his headphones in and we will hear the song outloud. Our other actor, Lucy will then enter on the other side of the tracks. This is where rhyce falls in love with lucy. They will then make eye contact. A train will go past and do its normal routine. Rhyce will then look and see that she has got on that train. The next parts of the video will all be based on rhyce seeing Lucy in various places like the locations we have chose such as Birkenhead park and others. At the very end they will then meet back up at the train station without knowing one another will be there.

Here i have put together a table of when me and my group are free so we can organise to do some more recording together.

I am now at a stage where I am beginning to edit parts of our music video using Imusic. We still need to film so much more so that I have scenes to put together. Imusic is a great way to produce your music video as it comes with many affects. I also dragged our song 'Latch by Sam smith' under the video which will play the whole way throughout. This week we plan to get a lot more filming done as a group and then continue to edit the parts together.
